Jim hails from the Iron Range of Northern Minnesota, born and raised in Hibbing. Jim is a 30+ year veteran of education as a teacher and principal so he understands well the financial and planning needs of educators. Jim has over 20 years experience in the investment and retirement planning business and brings a wealth of experience to assist Education Minnesota members with their financial planning needs and objectives. His commitment to members is exemplary service along with excellent products and programs. Jim and his wife, Pat, live in Stillwater. Brian joined EFS Advisors, a Registered Investment Advisor, as a financial advisor in 2009. Prior to joining EFS, he served on the Board of Directors and as Vice President at KLBB Holdings, Inc., a company he founded to connect students and schools to their communities. Brian continues to contribute to the community through his involvement with an alumni and mentor program at the University of Minnesota as well as several non-profit organizations.
He graduated from the University of Minnesota and completed the Certified Financial Planner™ program at the University of St. Thomas. He is also a Certified Financial Divorce Analyst™ through the Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts. Brian holds his Series 6, 63, and 65 registrations, and also has his life and health insurance licenses.
He is a member of the Financial Planning Association™ and believes in the importance of balanced spending today for wealth tomorrow. He welcomes unique planning scenarios including inheritance, estate planning, and divorce. The best strategy for these scenarios involve emotion, analysis, and planning to be executed the best way possible.
Brian lives in Stillwater with his wife, Lyndi and their son Luke. They enjoy numerous outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends.
Jay, a native of Stillwater, graduated with a degree in Economics from St. Olaf College in Northfield. He spent two and a half years as an operations analyst at a management solutions company, prior to joining EFS in 2011.
In his role as an EFS Financial Advisor, Jay provides advice to individuals and families seeking a comprehensive financial investment strategy, encompassing both short and long term goals. Using his knowledge of TRA, social security, and various investment strategies, he works with his clients to tailor plans according to their individual investment goals.
Jay enjoys playing softball, volleyball and participating in various outdoor activities with his wife and daughter. They currently reside in Stillwater. Jay enjoys the opportunity to help members plan for their financial future.
